about
IDCT is a software studio from Szczecin, Poland. Since 2011 we have designed and built backends, integrations and apps for clients in Poland, Germany, the UK and the USA.
NAME
idct (IdeaConnect) - software studio from Szczecin, Poland, since 2011
DESCRIPTION
We design and build the software behind products: backends and APIs that stay fast under heavy load, integrations that move data between systems, and the apps people use every day. Our work has run FinTech transactions, a fleet of reverse vending machines, a holiday-rental platform, a sportsbook and public-sector portals.
Every project gets the same habits: explicit, modular architecture, iterative delivery, automated tests, and asynchronous, event-driven design where speed matters. We publish the tools we build along the way as open source; most recently NATS tools for PHP and the browser, and NUTS, a Caddy module that streams NATS to browsers.
SKILLS
- --backend
- Backend and APIs PHP and Symfony, C# and .NET, Go and Rust. REST, SOAP and JSON-RPC APIs, payment gateways, and integrations with CRMs, data providers and hardware.
- --async
- Real-time and asynchronous Event-driven systems on NATS and JetStream, RabbitMQ, Mercure, and Redis or KeyDB, for high-volume, low-latency work such as financial transactions.
- --data
- Data MySQL and MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle and MongoDB. Large imports and exports, parsers, data mining and search, from XML feeds to Funnelback.
- --apps
- Apps Desktop apps in Go and Fyne, Android apps in Kotlin and Dart, and, back in the day, Windows Phone apps in C#.
- --ops
- Infrastructure Docker and deployment pipelines, Linux servers (Debian, CentOS) with nginx and Caddy, and automation over SSH and SFTP.
- --lead
- Architecture and leadership Platform architecture, technical direction and code review for development teams, automated testing with PHPUnit and Behat, and audits of existing IT systems.
WRITING
We write about what we build. On Medium: "It's NUTS: build a dynamic website using Symfony, NATS and NUTS", with the nut-exchange demo on GitHub.
On LinkedIn: "Rabbit-going-NATS: share the queue easily." (November 2024), an article in Polish on Snapdragon X laptops (September 2024), "EntityType and soft-deletion: the lib which you should not use" (July 2024), "Sylius e-commerce themes: extend templates like a pro" (July 2020), "IDCT EYE (Alpha): Raspberry Pi camera" (September 2019) and "No 'hello' to 'Ello'" (November 2014).

Casamundo
Hamburg, DE (remote)PHP development, team lead from 2018
Content delivery for a holiday-rental platform: a data import and parsing framework on Symfony components that brought houses, rooms, hotels and vacancies from external providers over SOAP, XML and JSON into the in-house systems. From 2018 we led the team behind it, added payment integrations and REST APIs for bookings, and built a QA system that checked migrations by comparing data across application versions.

What clients and colleagues say about working with us, on LinkedIn and on this site.
"I was working with Bartosz over 2 years. During this time he showed great programming and algorithmic skills in every task he was working on. Programming languages such as C#, PHP or JavaScript are not any challenge for him. He was always eager to learn new technologies (which he always mastered extremly fast). When someone had any problem he always helped with a good advice or a prototype of a funcionality. I hope that someday I will have a pleasure to work with him again."
Bartosz immediately impressed me with his seniority in the role despite his young age.
