Helena 0.9: auth on folders and collections

(go, release-notes) 1 min read by Bartosz Pachołek

Set a Bearer token once on a folder and every request inside inherits it. Plus a right-click menu on request tabs.

Helena 0.9.0 gives auth inheritance something to inherit from inside the app, and adds a right-click menu on request tabs. 0.9.1 followed the same day with a readable wrap toggle and Go 1.26.8.

Folder and collection auth

The sidebar's Folder settings and Collection settings dialogs gained an Auth tab with the same schemes and fields as a request's Auth tab. Requests default to Inherit from parent, so a Bearer token set on a folder covers every request inside it. The folder dialog previews what the folder itself would inherit, and secrets are kept out of collection files exactly like request auth.

A menu on request tabs

Right-click a tab (Ctrl+click on macOS) for Save, Close, Close Others and Close to the Right. The bulk closes ask once before discarding a scratch tab that has content, and close saved requests silently.

Fixed

With two collections open, selecting a row of the other collection and then saving wrote that collection instead of the one the edited request belongs to. Save now always targets the editor's own collection.

In 0.9.1, the response viewer's wrap toggle is readable while it is on, thanks to go-fyne-pretty-view 2.7.0, and govulncheck is clean.

Nothing to do when upgrading: a config written by 0.8.0 loads unchanged. Get it from the Microsoft Store or GitHub Releases.
